Don Quijote Must-Buy Shopping List is an independently run reference site built for people planning a Japan trip who want to know what to actually buy at Don Quijote (ドン・キホーテ) without wandering the aisles trying to figure it out. Don Quijote stores are huge and stock an enormous range of goods, which makes it genuinely hard for a first-time visitor to find what's worth buying in a limited amount of time. This site sorts the items travelers buy most often into five categories — Medicine & Healthcare, Beauty & Skincare, Snacks & Sweets, Food/Sauces & Alcohol, and Lifestyle & Self-Care — so you can see it all at a glance.
Why we built this
Searching "Don Quijote must-buy" turns up hundreds of blog posts, but each one lists a different set of items in a different order, so you end up cross-referencing several posts just to get a sense of what's actually popular. We thought pulling together the items that keep showing up across travel media, blogs, and social posts — and organizing them by category — would save that effort. You can tap any item for details and save the ones you want to a shopping list you can use like a checklist in the store.
How the rankings are built
Each category's order combines the following:
- How often an item appears in "Don Quijote must-buy" posts from travel media such as MATCHA, LIVE JAPAN, DiGJAPAN, KKday, and Tripstore
- How often it comes up in travel blog and social media reviews
- Whether the product itself is a long-running steady-seller
Prices are based on the single-unit retail price on Amazon Japan (amazon.co.jp) as of July 2026. A few private-label or seasonal items are estimated from comparable products. Prices vary by store, location, exchange rate, and time, so treat the numbers here as a budgeting reference rather than an exact quote.
